The residents in the communities in Floyd, Mitchell, Chickasaw and Howard Counties recycle their hazardous materials by bringing leftover products such as oil-based paints, spray paints, varnishes, stains, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, various cleaning chemicals and more, to the Hazardous Materials Collection Building for proper handling and recycling.

Some of these products can be expensive to purchase. You can save money and help the environment by taking a look in our “Swap Shop” area, located in the Hazardous Materials Collection Building. The Swap Shop area contains many used quantities of paints, stains, varnishes, cleaning products, and much more, all free of charge to the residents in our service area.

The Swap Shop area is open during regular business hours at the Landfill and doesn’t require you to drop-off anything! We do not offer a list of inventory in this area because it is constantly changing. If there is something particular you are looking for, come and check out this convenient and free service!
